Mahogany D. Caldwell, of Trenton, was identified as the suspect in an investigation into the August 2 theft of $1,793.45 worth of fragrances from ULTA Beauty in the Shoppes At Flemington, local police said.

A follow-up investigation led to a “multi-state, multi-jurisdictional shoplifting case” and a warrant for Caldwell's arrest, Flemington Police said.

Caldwell was taken into custody by Trenton and Middletown, PA police on August 27 following a car and foot chase, authorities said.

Caldwell was charged with third-degree shoplifting before being picked up by the Hunterdon County Sheriff’s Department at the Mercer County Jail and taken to the Hunterdon County Sheriff’s Office.

Caldwell was then processed on the outstanding warrant, held at the Hunterdon County Sheriff’s Department and taken to the Warren County Jail.
